Life of Great Devotion

    Whole life of President Kim Il Sung was the history of great affection and devotion that he devoted his all for the country and people. 
    Traces left by the President in every part of the country from Onsong, the northern tip of the country, to a farm village on a demarcation line and from the tideland construction site in the west to a small fishery station in the east are associated with impressive stories. 
    The President looked round a market to acquaint himself with the living conditions of the people even in the busy days of building a new country and ascended gradient in a remote mountain village to unfold a new history of golden mountain. 
    Amid the flames of war, the President visited an ordinary farmhouse in Wonhwa-ri, Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province to kindle the flames of agricultural cooperativization and, in the period of socialist construction, he continued his field guidance while finding his delight in the people’s happiness. 
    Even when the people enjoy Sunday and holiday time, the President made continuous efforts for the betterment of the people. 
    Since the liberation of the country to 1994, the last year of his great life, the President devoted Sundays and holidays for the good of the people. 
    All Sundays and holidays are associated with the sacred revolutionary life of the President who devoted his all for the sake of the people. 
    On one Sunday of one year the President found himself among the people all day while continuing his ceaseless field guidance to different units including Okdo-ri, Ryonggang County, South Phyongan Province(then) and energetically worked all night to write lecture “On Some Experiences of the Democratic and Socialist Revolutions in Our Country” to be made in front of the cadres of Party and state organizations on the occasion of the Party founding anniversary that year. 
    Sundays and holidays were ordinary working days for the great leader of the people who made devoted service for the good of the people.
    In those days, the President traversed the untrodden road of founding the country after liberation and saw the dawn break on the road to the front.
    The President made field guidance irrespective of snow and rain, steep ridges and passes for the betterment of the people.
    On June 19, 1994, the last period of his life, the President visited the Kumdang Cooperative Farm in Onchon County, South Phyongan Province(then). 
    There can be no tiredness in the work for the good of the people and joy felt from the people’s happiness can be substituted by rest--it is an uncommon view on happiness of the President. 
    The President lived an ardent and devoted life with such view on happiness. 
    Every moment of his life was the every step of advancing revolution and increasing the people’s happiness. 
    All parts of the country are permeated with immortal exploits of the President who devoted his whole life for the people. 
    He dropped in a farmhouse to open a pot with love of their real parents who take care of their life.
    When he visited a newly moved dwelling house, he guessed temperature of the floor.
    The President tasted soup and calculated thickness of quilts while looking round a mess room and hostel of the workers in one factory.
    The President devoted his all for well-being of the people. 
    The Korean people still remember the moving story of July 7, 1994. 
    That day, the President continued his work without letup at night after leaving historic sign on a document related to national reunification. 
    The officials concerned felt sorry of the President who was doing his work without having dinner.
    An official told the President to have dinner.
    Thanking him, the President said that he had a lot to be done for the people.
    He said that he could not take a rest even a moment whenever he saw Comrade Kim Jong Il staying up nights for the people.
    The official were deeply impressed by the President. 
    The night in a bad summer goes on, but the President in his eighties continued his work energetically. 
    President Kim Il Sung is, indeed, the leader of the people who devoted his all till the last moment of his life for the sake of the country and the people.
